I didn't think that the monastery was overly big but it was very pristine, grand and stunning to look at. The surrounding grounds were great to explore too. On the occasion of my visit, it wasn't overly crowded and there was ample room to walk around comfortably. The monastery was surrounded by mountains, hills and lots of greenery and it was all very pretty. The large halls, beatiful greenery and the tranquil scenery around the Lantau Island makes this place a must vist.\n\nYou have to take a cable car from ngong ping.  The monastery is just 2 minutes walk from the famous Tian Tan Big Buddha statue.\n\nAlthough you are not allowed entry into the spiritual hall of ten thousand Buddhas, you can enter the other halls and spend a decent 30 mins to 1 hour at this place\n\nYou also have vegetarian dining facility (served by the Monastery on a chargable basis). The vegetarian food consists mushrooms. If you would not like to pay more for the fixed menu, you can also dine at the local food stall just adjacent to the monastery and enjoy the view of the valleys and Lantau hills.","rating":5,"time_description":"5 months ago"}]},"attached":false}
