The exhibitions are always thoughtfully curated and consistently impressive.

We were there in the final days of the David Hockney exhibition and had to wait about 30 minutes outside to get in. It wasn’t the most pleasant experience, but it clearly showed how incredible the demand for the exhibition was.

I especially love the museum shop, it’s full of unique and interesting pieces. I ended up buying a bag and some pencils, which made the visit even more memorable.

If there’s a popular exhibition on, it’s best to book tickets in advance. The museum is also easy to reach and it’s very convenient to take a taxi right from the entrance on the way back.

Overall, a fantastic experience and definitely worth visiting every time you’re in Paris.
Frank Gehry's masterwork from his late career, the Fondation Louis Vuitton continues to amaze. From the outside it has the appearance of a deconstructed inflatable/Zeppelin. The current retrospective on Alexander Calder (1898-1976) complements the museum very well and is also appropriate given Calder's significant connections to Paris. If you want to avoid the crowds at the entrance I can highly recommend entering the museum from the adjacent Jardin d'Acclimatation. It requires an additional entrance fee of 7 Euro but it is well worth it. It also gives you an additional perspective on the building. The Calder exhibition pairs Calder's artworks with artworks by other artists who influenced or worked with Calder such as Mondrian, Fernand Léger, Miro, Jean Arp, and others. Nice museum store as well.
