In my opinion, EDITION leans more toward understated luxury rather than the ultra-luxury experience I personally prefer.\n\nThe location is excellent and makes exploring Madrid effortless. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and eager to help throughout my stay. The rooftop is undoubtedly the highlight of the hotel, with a fantastic atmosphere, and the lobby bar is equally beautiful and well worth visiting.\n\nThat said, the rooms felt rather basic for the price point. The chairs on the terrace were surprisingly uncomfortable, making the outdoor space much less enjoyable than it should have been. The food was good, but not particularly memorable.\n\nWhat disappointed me most was the complete lack of personalization. There was no welcome letter, no welcome amenity, and not even a small gesture such as a piece of chocolate to acknowledge my arrival. While these details may seem minor, they often distinguish a true luxury hotel from one that simply offers luxury accommodation.\n\nI also experienced an unfortunate maintenance issue: the toilet flush malfunctioned three separate times during my two-night stay, which was unexpected for a hotel in this category.\n\nOverall, I enjoyed the excellent location, the outstanding staff, and the vibrant rooftop. However, my first EDITION experience left me feeling that the brand delivers stylish, contemporary luxury rather than the highly personalized, ultra-luxury experience I was expecting. In my opinion, the rooftop is what truly sells this hotel and is its biggest asset.
