Unfortunately, it has become clear that the property is no longer being maintained to the standard it once was, and its age is beginning to show.\nThere were several signs of neglect during our stay. For example, the carpet in our room was torn, and many of the dishes used at breakfast were chipped, as shown in the photos. At over $400 per night, guests should reasonably expect a much higher level of upkeep and attention to detail.\nMost of the front desk staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. However, it only takes one negative interaction to overshadow an otherwise positive experience. One staff member seemed visibly annoyed by guests and unwilling to assist with even basic questions or requests, which left a lasting impression.\nIt\u2019s disappointing to see a place we have enjoyed for so many years decline in this way. Unless significant improvements are made, we will not be returning, nor can I recommend this hotel to others. Very sad.","rating":1,"time_description":"2 months ago"},{"author":"John Lipper","text":"We recently stayed at Witt Istanbul and unfortunately found the overall experience to be fairly poor.\n\nWhile the hotel is clean and presentable, it is very basic in terms of offering. Breakfast was limited, and despite informing the hotel on day one that I am gluten-free, no adjustments were made for the remainder of our stay, which was disappointing and felt dismissive.\n\nThe rooms themselves were not particularly comfortable. The mattresses were poor, and the TVs were positioned so far from the bed that they were effectively unusable.\n\nTemperature was a consistent issue. The rooms were very hot, and when we asked for air conditioning, we were told the system is centrally controlled and could not be switched from heating to cooling. We tried to manage this by leaving the windows open, but housekeeping closed them daily despite our request for them to remain open.\n\nThe staff were polite, but service lacked follow-through. We left our stay one day early and gave several days\u2019 notice due to needing to secure a flight to the Middle East, where availability was limited at the time due to ongoing conflict. The hotel was aware of the situation and initially said they would speak to management regarding a refund. However, after we followed up post-stay, we were simply told that no refund would be given in line with their terms of business.\n\nOverall, while the hotel is clean, it lacks comfort, flexibility, and responsiveness to guest needs.
