So I was very excited to come here. Although my expectations were high (as a big foodie myself) this place did not disappoint! There was not a single moment or dish that I didn't enjoy. All the dishes looked very strange and unfamiliar to me tbh, but once I took the bite, I recognized them immediately. The flavors were so spot on, very authentic and homey, yet so elegant and delicate.

My personal favorite was the first course, the crab tratlet. I grew up in a small town next to the ocean, and this cute little crab tart was packed with flavors that just brought me back to a meal with my family. The seabass was also another dish that impressed me more than I expected. The cook on the fish was purely impeccable. The curry was rich with a nice level of heat. I am also obsessed with the desserts. They looked nothing like the desserts I had growing up but they tasted exactly like them. I felt like a child again.

I enjoyed all the dishes a great deal. This was such a wonderful experience. Of course, I will be back here again.. and again... and again! :)

Reservation is recommended as the wait could be long, especially the tasting menu.
How does this place not have a Michelin star yet? This was my favorite fine dining experience in New York by far, and we have tried a range of Michelin starred spots (1*, 2*, 3*—for celebrations/special occasions). I don’t know how the politics of the food industry works, maybe some places are better at schmoozing than others, but there have been 1 star tasting menus/restaurants that have been good, but nowhere nearly as impressive or memorable as Bangkok Supper Club’s tasting menu was. Each course was intentional and thoughtfully put together (I wrote more details in captions of photos). I can genuinely say I loved each course and actually remember what it was. Sometimes the experience of a tasting menu can feel like a blur, and we remember maybe one or two things we ate, but here I can clearly recall each one. We also tried a wine pairing and loved each selection. Another note: I noticed tasting menus are shorter in NYC, compared to other cities, which has made me less interested in visiting certain restaurants (like I find myself wondering more frequently in New York, will we walk out hungry?) Bangkok Supper Club’s tasting menu length was perfect, not too short or too long. By far my favorite meal in NYC so far. Award this place a star already!
